[Update: More info] OnePlus confirms it won't have Project Treble on any current devices, including the OnePlus 5T

Android updates have never been very fast or consistent, but Google took some steps to improve the process several months ago. That's when it announced Project Treble, a feature of Android Oreo and later that makes OTAs modular. Devices that launch with Oreo will support Treble, but those updated to Oreo won't—at least mostly. OnePlus has confirmed on its forums that Treble won't be part of any current devices, including the new OnePlus 5T.

Nexus Player gains Google Assistant functionality with November security patch

Second Android 8.0 Oreo beta is now rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus

At the beginning of the month, Samsung started rolling out its Android 8.0 Oreo beta to its Galaxy S8/S8 Plus devices in the US, UK, and Korea. The company isn't resting on its laurels, it seems, as the second beta build is already making its way to users. The firmware may have the build number G950FXXU1ZQK4 or G955USQU1ZQK6 depending on which region you're in.

November 2017 platform distribution shows an anemic 0.1% increase for Oreo and a larger bump for Nougat
